  4. Thank you for helping us remember that the 12 Days of Christmas START on December 25th....not END. We always have a "little Christmas" to celebrate the end of the season - it's wonderful because we can keep eating those cookies til then. After that they go into the freezer to be brought out small baggie by small baggie on sunday afternoons.

    Blessings...

  6. I put all that work into lights and tree and decorations I am out to get the most out of it!! All 12 Days, until the Feast of the Epiphany.

I tell ya, if stores could get Americans to give gifts on the Epiphany as they do in some culture, we would be still celebrating

  11. Yes, Christmas is not over yet. Keep it alive until it's traditional end at the Epiphany and , by the way, the Epiphany is the setting for one of the greatest short stories in English, James Joyces' "The Dead" which is set at an upper middle class Epiphany dinner party in Dublin around 1900. It's one of Joyce's most accessible works and a powerful meditation on the relationship between the living and the dead and a life lived without deep emotion risk or commitment.

    as usual you are right.

except that "The Dead" is Joyce's only accessible work. A lovely, lonely, sad Christmas story..
