"There is no frigate like a book, To take us lands away." Emily Dickinson
I love the way you caught the gorgeous detail!
Beautiful shot! I've lived in the DC area for over twenty years now, and never been inside the Capitol. Now I see what I've been missing!
Great picture! I don't remember it being so beautiful the last time I was there :)
It is a beautiful building--I was so amazed by it. Reading Dan Brown's new book brought it all back to my memory. Your picture is lovely.
it is WAY far up and it all looks very small from the ground. in fact the figures are life size.

The architecture and detail is stunning. I love the angle of the picture and how much is captured. My husband and I keep talking about taking a road trip to DC and this photo is a good reminder of why we should!
Very cool perspective
Are the figures three dimensional or painted on? I can't tell. ;-)
I love the architecture of D.C. sadly, on this trip I was rather sick, and most of my photos came out blurry...as was I.Stine, it is a fresco, painted on wet plaster.
WAS KATHERINE NEXT TO YOU BLABBING WHILE YOU TOOK THIS PICTURE?
