WOW, I went there last year, and when I saw your first pic, and hearing on this mornings news the trouble in Athens, I thought are you going to be able to visit it... Great pics!!
Awesomely amazing. I heard a construction joke once that the ruins were never actually completed :) I watched a movie about Alexandria this week and it seemed its citizens regularly trashed their city and each other over religious differences. Such a shame. It took another 1200 years before prevailing attitudes allowed since to develop. At least they left behind some spectacular architecture!
Are you there now? I read it's a bit chaos there with protest and all. But indeed, Greece has a lot to show and Athens is rich in awesome ancient structures. Stunning photos you shared here.

It's just amazing how old that stuff is. Makes me curious about how the people lived and how they built it.

it was hard to take a picture that was not full of my fellow tourists...there were actually a load of people up there.
