the bridge spans a space between interrogation rooms and a prison .. "The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells."
I have never noticed any odor except an odor of the sea. it is tidal water, moving in and out from the sea and lagoon. I have heard that, but it has never been my experience.
No pigeons? Half my photos of Venice have pigeons in them! They seemed to be everywhere, how did you avoid them? lol Lovely photos as always, and you make Venice look much more beautiful than I remember it.
I love your Venice photos. In my opinion it is one of those cities where it is almost impossible to take a bad photo. A bit crowded, touristy and overpriced for my taste, but really hard to beat from the photogenic perspective.
Gorgeous as always! Love the last one the way the color pops out from the muted background.
