To take us lands away." Emily Dickinson
You take the most amazing pictures. if I can't get to Rome, this is the next best thing.
Rome (and the rest of Italy) is on my bucket list.
Enjoy! One of the best places I have been to!
Kind of have to wonder just what the Swiss are guarding... St Peter's architecture is beautiful and so ornate.
That is unbelievable! I've been to France before and I remember feeling so overwhelmed by the art and architecture around me!
So beautiful! I'd love to go there some day. Please come link up your gorgeous photos at my place!http://table4five.net/2012/11/07/wordless-wednesday-110712/
lovely lovely shots!!!!
Have a wonderful time!!! I love these pictures!!xoJeanne
Stunning photos! I love the night shots.
So many great sights, I wish I had visited Rome instead of Milan! :) Danica
Beautiful shots. Very cool that you got to see the pope.
Rome is such a beautiful city. That shot of Trevi Fountain makes it look so much larger than it is. I was shocked to find it on a tiny street! And just love the glow of the night shots.
The fountain is big...the square very small. But I was forewarned, so I knew...lol
So pretty. I absolutely loved visiting Vatican City. Amazing!
its been a long long long time .. but nothing seems to have changed :)
I was in Rome five years ago, my first time leaving the country, and have such fond memories of that trip! Trevi Fountain is one of my favorite spots on Earth... so gorgeous. Thanks for the pick-me-up on a dreary day!
Beautiful photos...have fun and enjoy. ...happy WW!!! Kathy
Great photo of the Swiss Guard in full ceremonial uniform with halberd and sword. Although they are trained in the use of firearms, it's great to see an "army" using 16th century weapons.
perhaps, unless you are the one being protected.
Wow! What a trip! Thank you for sharing the lovely photos with us. I can't help but be a little bit jealous. ;)
I'm also jealous! You must be having a great time! So beautiful!
well, it is actually home...I got home in time to have fun with Super Storm Sandy.
St. Peter's is magnificent!!
it really is!
Wonderful shots as always. The Swiss guard look completely clownish however. It would be hard to take them seriously.
they are actually very serious...just festive.
OH Rome, I think I could lose myself, and maybe find myself again on the streets of Rome-- and I'd sure like the opportunity to find out, ya know? =) Beautiful post.Aloha,Happy Wordless Wednesday.
