Enjoy! One of the best places I have been to!
ReplyDeleteKind of have to wonder just what the Swiss are guarding... St Peter's architecture is beautiful and so ornate.
ReplyDeleteThat is unbelievable! I've been to France before and I remember feeling so overwhelmed by the art and architecture around me!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I'd love to go there some day. Please come link up your gorgeous photos at my place!

Stunning photos! I love the night shots.
ReplyDeleteSo many great sights, I wish I had visited Rome instead of Milan! :) Danica
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Very cool that you got to see the pope.
ReplyDeleteRome is such a beautiful city. That shot of Trevi Fountain makes it look so much larger than it is. I was shocked to find it on a tiny street! And just love the glow of the night shots.
ReplyDeleteThe fountain is big...the square very small. But I was forewarned, so I knew...lol
DeleteSo pretty. I absolutely loved visiting Vatican City. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteits been a long long long time .. but nothing seems to have changed :)
ReplyDeleteI was in Rome five years ago, my first time leaving the country, and have such fond memories of that trip! Trevi Fountain is one of my favorite spots on Earth... so gorgeous. Thanks for the pick-me-up on a dreary day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos...have fun and enjoy. ...happy WW!!!

Great photo of the Swiss Guard in full ceremonial uniform with halberd and sword. Although they are trained in the use of firearms, it's great to see an "army" using 16th century weapons.
ReplyDeleteperhaps, unless you are the one being protected.
DeleteWow! What a trip! Thank you for sharing the lovely photos with us. I can't help but be a little bit jealous. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm also jealous! You must be having a great time! So beautiful!
ReplyDeletewell, it is actually home...I got home in time to have fun with Super Storm Sandy.
DeleteSt. Peter's is magnificent!!
ReplyDeleteit really is!
DeleteWonderful shots as always. The Swiss guard look completely clownish however. It would be hard to take them seriously.
ReplyDeletethey are actually very serious...just festive.
DeleteOH Rome, I think I could lose myself, and maybe find myself again on the streets of Rome-- and I'd sure like the opportunity to find out, ya know? =) Beautiful post.
