I love that kind of stuff! In fact, one of my favorite things about Easter is that you can get lambs made out of butter! (not as big as the cow, however...)
ReplyDeleteOK ... they are sure some unusual things ... would certainly give you something to talk about!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Wordless Wednesday! :)
Great pics! I like the one of a basket.
ReplyDeleteIS that cow refrigerated LOL Ok i don't get the concrete corn at all except cattle have been know to have ad concrete put in their feed, perhaps it came from this field.but totally love the Basket Building very cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share. They were interesting and strange.
ReplyDeleteThose are strange things, to be sure. What wild imaginations over there....
ReplyDeleteLOL...yep...I'm from Ohio, and have seen some of those things myself. In fact, I've tried to tell people here in Ireland about the giant Longaberger basket. I think they don't believe me. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!! happy WW!

Hey! That's my home state your dissing! LOL. I've never seen the Longaberger basket building, but I think it's a hoot! Love the series.
ReplyDeleteI love your new header Caite. The weird photos of Ohio are awesome too; love the basket building.
ReplyDeleteVery cool stuff! Having worked at Tupperware HQ for 11 years, we were all very envious of our competitor Longenberger's HQ.
ReplyDeleteWeird! I only have normal things near me, so couldn't replicate this series, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe giant ears are a bit strange, Been to the giant Basket place, Have a lot of them at my home.
ReplyDeletethe white Cow is priceless.
My WW link for you
Beth F, I am certainly not dissing your home state. I admire these things. Hey, I am from NJ...I have no room to talk..lol
ReplyDeleteYes, the cow was refrigerated, because it was really quite warm at the fair as I remember.
The corn is perhaps the weirdest, because I am not sure anyone understands why they built it.
Now I want to go to Ohio!
ReplyDeleteThe cow in the window (??) is hilarious! Love the Corn on the cob - I grew up in Nebraska with a lot of corn ~ And that is a Longaberger basket - right?? I used to go those parties a lot! Still have a few of them left, I think! Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteOhio is an interesting place, full of odd things.
ReplyDeleteThe Butter Cow is in a refrigerated display case...or everyone would be licking him.
..and yes it is the Longaberger corporate headquarters. a giant basket..
Looks like the Midwest to me! We live in Indiana and it would not surprise me one bit to see a butter cow or concrete field o' corn somewhere out here lol.

Look at all of that lovely butter. Think of the cookies and cakes it could make! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd let's not get started on New Jersey. As a life long Maryland resident, we have some choice ones about the Garden State ;-)
But to be fair, I should point out that people in Central Maryland (like me) also like to rag on our counterparts on MD's Eastern Shore. There's a reason we call it slower lower... ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo whimsical. A cow made of butter and the concrete corn are bizarre and fun.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question on mine, there probably should be a law against photography while driving but I don't ever hold my camera up. I glance at the LCD screen and click a quick shot. It usually doesn't work as my focus is on driving. I think it's similar to answering a cell phone which isn't legal everywhere. I keep telling myself I'll stop doing either one (photo or cell phone). I would definitely drop my phone or camera quickly if need be.
Wow. Who ever would have thought of such things?!? Well, the architect(s), I guess. Thanks for transporting me to a very otherworldly place!
ReplyDeleteThe Butter Cow is just... freaky. Found myself wanting to sniff it, for some weird reason :)
ReplyDeleteConcrete corn, though- hey, that's something else entirely. Ouch.
mmmm...rancid butter cow...LOL! All the same..it would be great to see these places...
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures. Makes me want to go to Ohio.
ReplyDeleteI'm dumbstruck. Truly.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt visited that basket. It was the highlight of her life.
ReplyDeleteIt has not been the highlight of my life..but it did make an impression. It is huge and you can see the top of it, standing out above the tress when you are miles away.
ReplyDeleteNeat! would love to visit those place..I bet my boys will love it..;)
ReplyDeleteThese are unusual things, and beautiful captured!
ReplyDeletePaula Deen would be in heaven with that butter cow. Of course just a couple of her recipes would decimate the poor thing! The basket building is just too cool. Concreete corn? Nope, don't get it.
ReplyDeleteThese are very interesting! I'd love to see them in real!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of them too.
concrete corn! That's bizarre! I've seen a picture of the butter cow before, crazy stuff. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteI know that basket building!! I worked with a girl who was OBSESSED with Longaberger baskets and I know that is there headquarters!!! I'm not suprised they have the money to built a custom building like that ... those baskets are crazy expensive!
ReplyDeleteI love the building, and I have to love a company that would build it...but I don't get the way expensive baskets.
