"There is no frigate like a book,
To take us lands away." Emily Dickinson
Madaket Beach in Nantucket is known for it's beautiful sunsets...and the people that gather to watch them.About a half hour before sunset, people began to arrive. They came in cars, on bikes from all over the island and on foot from the nearby houses. Many brought beach chairs, and baskets with food and beverages, of the soft and adult variety. We all sat and waited, people meeting up with old friends and chatting, some just staring at the lovely surrounding. And then the sun got closer and closer to the horizon and in one moment, it had set...and everyone broke out in applause! Soon, people started to drift off into the gathering night.
Great moments frozen, I am so glad you shared. :)
