Oh my gosh, did you make those? We have to know. We have one that we bought at an art show years ago - we use it as a Christmas ornament. We watched the artist work on another one and it was fascinating. You must write a post about this if you do create them.
I have not made any in years. As every Easter approaches, I always consider making some more but before you know it the time flies by. I guess I really should start this time of year, even if it only takes a couple of days, start to finish, with drying time.
avisannschild, you are easy to please. I could make one of those one color ones in no time at all.
Personally, I like the very intricate, fine designs with multi-colors.
These are AMAZING!!! I love them! They totally bring back memories ... my mom was pretty gifted at doing these (and I'll deny it if confronted but I think yours are better). I love the blue and white one! I remember sitting at the kitchen table and watching her do them and then getting to experiment with them and it was so wonderful. I love the intricracies of these eggs. I remember driving somewhere into the bowels of Philly for my mom to get supplies. Now I'm really going to have to ask her if she kept that stuff...I want to do them again!!!!
Thank you so much for posting these!!!! Totally brings back great memories for me!
These are totally gorgeous. It must take a very steady hand to get that painting so precise. I am in awe and almost speechless. What other talents have you been kept hidden?
Am I to undertand that you actually made these? If so, you are being far too modest! I particularly like the blue one.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. I have a couple on my shelves as well.
ReplyDeleteoh they are beautiful :O

Hmmm, I'm not sure I like being called "easy to please"! :) I guess I just like the simplicity of that design better!

I first saw them in high school, when one of my classmates, who was Ukrainian brought them in...and I had to learn to make them...
ReplyDeleteI used to get my supplies on a little store on the lower east side of Manhattan...but like I said, you can easily order them on the internet now.
