We have a lot of turtles in our neighborhood but they generally stay out of the street. I still want a Turtle X-ing sign though!
in the refuge, they cross the dirt dike all the time from water to marsh and back..of course, the speed limit is 15 mph, so they are easy to avoid.

Do turtles not cross the road from September to April? Where do they go?
Good question....
I have never seen a turtle crossing sign before! Here in Illinois we just have signs for deer. Children. And the elderly. Isn't that weird? Loving, but weird that we need to be reminded to watch for anything other than ourselves in our own hurry.

they did not seem that slow when I was chasing them with a camera...
