  5. WOW, I went there last year, and when I saw your first pic, and hearing on this mornings news the trouble in Athens, I thought are you going to be able to visit it... Great pics!!

  12. Awesomely amazing. I heard a construction joke once that the ruins were never actually completed :) I watched a movie about Alexandria this week and it seemed its citizens regularly trashed their city and each other over religious differences. Such a shame. It took another 1200 years before prevailing attitudes allowed since to develop.
    At least they left behind some spectacular architecture!
