  1. Wow the architecture is not only stunning but very interesting. Thanks for sharing it. Seems as no one builds that way anymore, like there is no time, or money, or interest (profit).

  3. What a gorgeous building … and my favorite is probably the oddly named Crypt. There aren't dead senators there I hope!

  13. I agree, I was entranced by this building. When I was posting my pictures of the dome, I Googled some interesting facts about its construction, and the story is fascinating. When you are bored, you should look it up!

  14. One thing that is so impressive about your pictures is that you always manage to take them without strange people in them. I can never get clear unobstructed pictures like that!

  21. Nice pictures. I love visiting D.C. I didn't know there is a statue of King Kamehameha in the Capitol. For a second there, I thought you also went to Hawaii.

  26. What a great set of photos. I loved the arched ceiling one.

You left a comment on my blog about having no luck with peonies. Neither did I until I learned that they do NOT like acid soil, the kind we have in the Pacific Northwest and also where I lived in CA. Now every spring and fall I sprinkle some dolomitic limestone on the ground around them and voila, covered with flowers! Not sure if that's your problem, but it's worth checking out.
