Very interesting.

And it is hard to justify spending so much more for a book in a small bookstore when you can get it cheaper on Amazon (with free shipping). I feel guilty but I have to watch my dollars too. And, like you, I will read until my time here is up.Jennershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08044537551139633301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684061712648858453.post-7435553301306981492010-11-09T08:00:55.171-05:002010-11-09T08:00:55.171-05:00I hope to have "kicked the bucket" long ...I hope to have "kicked the bucket" long before reading is by being brain beamed!Kayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10282803815704229945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684061712648858453.post-43187009738815286302010-11-09T06:10:17.960-05:002010-11-09T06:10:17.960-05:00leslie, I am not totally convinced. Oh, there will always be physical books same as there are still some vinyl record albums produced each year. But the most economical business model will be to stream text to an e-reader, if not directly to our brains! ;)Leslie (Under My Apple Tree)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17822229389189435951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684061712648858453.post-14137167804239376192010-11-08T19:24:54.666-05:002010-11-08T19:24:54.666-05:00Excellent answer!

Where I live, we have the major stores but we also have a smaller independent that has survived for many years. Amazon does nothing for my community - it doesn't even collect taxes for it. I think the last book I bought was Condaleezza Rice's memoir and I bought it from the aforementioned indie.bermudaonionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10726401178972099557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8684061712648858453.post-42544185715226755342010-11-08T14:07:48.389-05:002010-11-08T14:07:48.389-05:00I guess beamed to my brain would be fun. ; )
